Stock Market Recommendations & Opening Bell for Today

Benchmark indices started off the day on a flat note Tuesday as investors awaited third quarter GDP data due later today.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 1.32 points at 28814.20 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 0.05 points to 8896.75.

Cipla, ONGC, Tata Motors, GAIL, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Infratel, Aurobindo Pharma and Grasim were early gainers while ITC, Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, BPCL and Hindalco were losers.

 The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 66.74 per dollar today against previous close of 66.70.

Stock Market Closing Update by ABR Venture

Benchmark indices closed lower for the first time in last seven consecutive trading sessions, dragged by banks, telecom and auto stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 80.09 points at 28812.88 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 42.80 points to 8896.70 while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks despite weak breadth.

Axis Bank was the biggest loser among Sensex stocks, down 3.6 percent followed by ICICI Bank, L&T, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Maruti and Tata Motors while Reliance Industries gained 4.7 percent.

The market opened flat with a negative bias on Monday, tracking weakness in Asian peers and fall in FMCG and private banks stocks. 

The 30-share Sensex was down 59.96 points at 28833.01 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 21.65 points to 8917.85. 

ITC and Idea Cellular were biggest losers, down more than 2 percent followed by Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank, M&M, HDFC, BPCL and Bosch. Reliance Industries continued its run up, up more than 2 percent. GAIL, L&T, ONGC, Infosys, Aurobindo Pharma and Coal India were other gainers. 

The Indian rupee gained in the early trade today . It has opened higher by 8 paise at 66.75 per dollar against Friday's close of 66.83.

Stock Market Closing Bell & Update by ABR Venture

Reliance helped the Sensex close 103 points higher on Wednesday, though IT and HDFC Group stocks capped gains.

Reliance posted biggest single day gain since May 19, 2009, jumped 11 percent to close over Rs 1200-mark.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 103.12 points at 28864.71 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 19.05 points to 8926.90 but the market breadth was negative.

About 1763 shares declined against 1088 advancing shares on the BSE.

Axis Bank, Coal India and Asian Paints were other gainers while TCS, Infosys, HDFC and HDFC Bank fell 1-2 percent.

Stock Market Recommendations & Opening Bell by ABR Venture

Equity benchmarks started off the week moderately lower amid consolidation ahead of expiry of February derivative contracts on Thursday.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 26.59 points at 28442.16 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 6.75 points to 8814.95.

TCS, HUL, GAIL, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HCL Technologies were early gainers while Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, ITC, Cipla, Tata Motors (DVR) and Eicher Motors were losers.

 The Indian rupee opened lower by 5 paise at 67.06 per dollar today against Friday's close of 67.01.

Stock Market Recommendations & Update by ABR Venture

HDFC Bank lifts Sensex 400 pts, Nifty near 8900 in opening

Equity benchmarks started off last day of the week on a spectacular note, with the Senses rising more than 400 points supported by HDFC Bank.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 400.89 points or 1.42 percent at 28702.16 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 95.60 points or 1.09 percent to 8873.60. HDFC Bank surged 8.41 percent as RBI says restrictions placed on purchase of bank shares by foreign portfolio investors withdrawn immediately.

The rally also spilled over to HDFC that gained 2.63 percent. Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank surged 1-2 percent. GAIL and Lupin were other gainers.

Cadila Healthcare gained further, up 2.8 percent hitting a 52-week high. BHEL, Bharti Airtel, Wipro, Infosys, ITC and Reliance were losers.

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade on Friday. It has opened lower by 5 paise at 67.12 per dollar versus previous close 67.07.

Today Stock Market Closing Update by ABR Venture

Benchmark indices snapped two-day losing streak on Thursday, driven by healthcare, technology and auto stocks.

 The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 145.71 points at 28301.27 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 53.30 points to 8778. About 1814 shares advanced against 992 declining shares on the BSE.

Sun Pharma, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, GAIL, Aurobindo Pharma and Tata Motors (DVR) gained 2-4 percent while ITC, L&T, ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Coal India, Bharti Infratel, Bosch and BPCL were under pressure.

Sensex opens higher, Nifty reclaims 8750; SBI, TCS lead gainers

Equity benchmarks rebounded in opening on Thursday after two-day losses, supported by PSU banks and technology stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 48.32 points at 28203.88 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 14.25 points to 8738.95.  

SBI gained 2 percent after cabinet approved merger of five associate banks with the bank. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Mysore and State Bank of Travancore rallied 6 percent each. TCS rose 1.71 percent as the board of directors will consider buyback of shares on February 20.

Infosys, Cipla, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma were other gainers while ITC, Bharti Airtel, Aurobindo Pharma, Bharti Infratel, Coal India, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were under pressure.

The Indian rupee has opened lower by 4 paise at 66.94 per dollar against previous close of 66.90.
